Life Eaters came together in 2012 as Killing Horse Records‘ co-founder Mike Sylvia was looking for an outlet for some songs he had been working on.  Teaming up with former ¡No Pasaran! frontmen, Eric Mason and Romel Espinel on guitars, the rhythm section was filled out with former Rye Coaltion and Merel drummer Greg Leto and Nebraska-bred transplant John Feurerbach on bass.  The quintent began writing more songs and playing shows.  Early performances were well received, notably for frontman Mike Sylvia’s over the top energy and antics.  Guitarist Eric Mason soon left the group, amicably, to pursue other goals and a replacement was found in Rye Coaltion and Black Hollies axe-man, John Gonnelli.  With a steady lineup in place, the band continued to refine their songs on the stage as well as team up with Mike Moebius at Moonlight Mile Studios in Jersey City where they recorded their eponymous debut album.

Life Eaters takes heavy influence from punk, metal and hard rock.  With a melodic twist of guitarmonies and noise, the 12 songs contained on their debut range from dark, mid-tempo power compositions similar to The Cult or Danzig, to fast, riff-heavy punk scorchers inspired by Fugazi and Rocket From The Crypt. On stage, Life Eaters offer a show you will not soon forget.
